pcmcia hotfix

Multifunction pcmcia doesnt work under w2k. This is a
known problem to MS and they recommend SP4 to fix it. Im
on a company laptop and cant install sp4. But! There is a
hotfix but MS tells me to contact the support first and
pay money to get it. Who can help?

Hi Ralph,

Hotfixes are provided at no charge from Microsoft Product Support Services.
A case will be created, the hotfix will be provided, and the case closed
with no charges to you. If the hotfix does not resolve the issue and you
want to continue to troubleshoot the issue, at that time the case would
revert to a charge incident.
