PCI Simple Communication Controller

In my device manager PCI Simple Communication Controller
is listed under "OTHER" with the big yellow question mark.
I've tried to update the driver using the system restore
disk but it says there are no device drivers of that type.

I believe I can not get my USB printer or USB cable modem
to work because this driver is messed up. Does that make
sense? I've been through the MS downloads and Knowledge
base but can't find any info. Yes my USB slots are on a
PCI card.

Anything you folks could help me with would be GREATLY
APPRECIATED!!!

The maker of the PCI USB controller card is the one that should have the
drivers for the OS you are running. MS does not write the drivers for such
a device. Check the vendor's website for the card that you have.
