PCI-express power supply

Hi,

I consider buying a Seasonic S12-430 atx power supply. It seems "to
support" PCI-express, but unfortunately, my motherboard AsRock P4VT8+
doesn't have PCI-express slots.
The question is: can this psu be connected to my motherboard anyway?

Thanks a lot.

'Supports PCI-express' simply indicates that it has the usual 6-pin power
connector typically used to plug into video cards that use the PCI-express
slot on the motherboard.

yes it will work on other MB's as well.

Yes, the PCI-e connector will just be unused.

Thanks for a lot. I'll buy the psu cuz it seems to be very quiet (my
reason to buy it)

As, often are many other power connectors on most modern supplies.
If your motherboard or drives don't need that particular connector;
usually you just don't worry about it; simply dressing the unwanted
wires away so they don't interfere with airflow or accidentally short.

Where you run into problems is older PSUs without needed extra
high-current wires for newer CPUs or video boards.
