PC Wizard says my P4 6.2GHz FSB is 200 MHz.

Bob

I'm confused.

I've got an Intel P4 Prescott, 3.2GHz. The FSB is 800MHz (at least that's
what the specifications said it was) but it appears that my FSB is running at
200MHz.

My Epox 4P4GA+ mobo supports 800MHz.

My BIOS is Phoenix Technologies, LTD. Version : 6.00 PG Date: Date : March
19, 2004.

Am I misunderstanding something here?

Yes, you are misunderstanding it.
The FSB of the motherboard is correctly 200 MHz.
The P4 CPU is internally boosted 4x and runs at a bus speed of 800 MHz.

Dear Dave,
Thank you for not telling him he needed to "format his hard drive and do a
clean install".

The motherboard FSB and the processor FSB (bus speed) run at the same speed
of 800Mhz, when using a 200MHz clock, or else they wouldn't talk very well
together, now would they?
