pc to pc

Hello,

I'm new to networking. I would like to do a pc to pc connection.

I have one win xp pro and win 2000.
I would like to connect this computer so each computer can see each other
folder.
I already connect it (crossover cable) and use the same workgroup.
Anyway each computer can not see each other.

What's the problem ? Should I make this computer the same IP or something
?Please help

HI,
both PC must belongs to the same network Id

Ex : PC1 IP : 192.168.1.2
MAsk : 255.255.255

PC1 IP : 192.168.1.3
MAsk : 255.255.255

network ID in this case is : 192.168.1

Dear Serge,

Thanks for the advice.
I tried to ping and its works, but one computer can only contact the other
computer after I'm doing computer search. Is there any way to contact the
others from explorer for example. I did make these two computer the same
workgroup. but the other computer never show up ?
