pc to pc via internet

i am trying to make any type of network conection from my
pc to a friends pc 1.5 miles away using the internet to
conect both our pc's but no matter what i try its not
working i know how to set up a normal network using
network card and direct conection but no idea how to set
this up

again


my pc to mates pc 1.5 miles away using internet as
network or similer so were directly connected

plz any one help
