Hi Has anyone used PC Specialist for a custom laptop? They seem to have very good deals. Got a quote for the following:

15.4" widescreen
Core 2 Duo - 2.20ghz
2048mb ram
120GB SATA
512mb GE Force 8600GT
wireless N card
Extra battery

This comes out at £769 inc p&P and VAT. This seems like rather a good deal and I wanted to get people's views before slapping down £800 on an unknnown.

Cheers

At a glance, that looks like a good offer - I've taken a quick look at Dells site and can't find anything like that in that price range. It might be worth looking at a 17" screen though, as a graphics card like that would be wasted on a 15".

Is Vista included too?

Hi Ed,

I bought a custom PC from them earlier this year - it's a desktop, but if it helps, apart from them being a bit slow (and to be fair, this was stated clearly on their website at the time I ordered, so my own choice) I have been very pleased with the PC.:thumb:

There was a slight problem with one of the fans, but it was dealt with very promptly. The PC was collected exactly when they said it would be, and returned to me within about a week, which I thought was quite good. They didn't quibble and all was well afterwards. :)

Cheers guys. Vista not included but I was planning to put XP Pro on it. I'd prefer to go for the 15" as it's a little more portable and I'd be using it to do a bit of gaming whilst travelling. BF2 and 2142!
