PC Shuts Shuts Down When I Run a CD

Whenever I try to run a CD from the CD Rom Drive, my PC Shuts down. PC
attempts to re-start, but can't as long as the CD is still in the drive. Once
it is removed, PC will start.

Can anyone suggest a solution.

If you can find a extra CDRom and try hooking it up instead of your current
drive it would be a start to find out if its the cdrom drive or the OS.
