Hi
My laptop continues to get a message "remote procedure call failure, shutting down" message and then shuts off and reboots itself after about 60 seconds. Why does this happen?

You have the Blaster worm.

To fix it: When the window come up, go to Start, Run, and type shutdown -a.
This will abort the shutdown. You can now download and install KB824146 from
Microsoft.

To remove the virus, download FixBlast

Finally, get a good firewall and some good antivirus software.
