PC reboots during virus scan

As the subject says.. using McAfee virus scan version 8 (new) the PC
reboots all by itself 3/4 way through the scan. Does the same thing in
safe mode.

Any ideas?

Dave:

This is because that your computer bugchecked (Blue Screen) during the
scan. Check to see if there is an entry in the System log in the Event
Viewer with the details of what the stop code was. It should give you
some ideas of where to look.
