Mcafee VS 7 : avsmcpa.dll

Mcafee Virus Scan 7 in the my presrio and uninstalled through the Add/Remove
prog. But there is this file/message (same as kb318012). quote

" Virus Scan: Avsmcpa.dll
The specified resource language ID cannot...."

These files are blocking the display of icons in my Control Panel.

Applying MS KB318012 does not resolve the issue. When You do a Find
Files/folders search, it will give you a nagative result but when you on the
pc, the message will appear.

I do not have the CD for Virus Scan 7 as it come pre-install and Macfee do
not support this version any more. I downloaded the trial version of Mcafee
Anti Virus Scan but the 'error/problem" still persist. Can someone help how
can I get rid of the message and able to display the CP icons. Thanks

That's right. Retail McAfee VirusScan v7.x is no longer supported. The following is your
only hope...
