pc probs, dont think its a virus

Hi, im running windows XP proffesional. A couple of weeks
ago i Started having problems with my PC here are the
symtptoms.
When it came back up the taskbar had changed form normal
blue to a beige colour, and the windows and taskbar have
changed to the old windows look (very square). Though i
have managed to fix this problem by going to properties
and changeing a setting from classic windows to XP it
often goes back to beige and the button isnt there for me
to change it back.
My MSN messenger also asks me to type my email address in
every time i log on to the internet, whereas it used to
save it.
Also when i start up now the volume controls appear in
the system tray. I used to have norton antivirus and
nividia graphics manager start up too but now they dont.
Norton antivirus no longer works, i cant open it as it
comes up with an error saying i have to uninstal and
reinstal it. i do this and the same error keeps
appearing.
It also says something about the integrator cannot run as
the frame rate is not right.
Sometimes when i start up i get an error saying that some
registry entries have had to be repaired.
I have tried running the symantec virus scan online but
the pc cuts out when i start the scan. This also happens
when i run an adaware scan. I have tried downloading avg
virus scan but it idnt find anything. I have also run a
spybot S&D scan but that also didnt find anything.

The main problem is sometimes the monitor screen just
goes blank like it is turned off but it is not, and the
pc is still runnin but i cant look at anything and have
to turn it off by pressing the button.

any help will be greatly appreciated i have given all the
information i can though if you need more please ask. I
dont know much about computers and so am a bit stuck.

thanks Robert
