PC not starting

Hi, I have an ASUS P5B-MX brand new
I connected the power - and the LED light - so that is working so are
all the fans (CPU, chassis & AC)
However the screen is just blank - no signal

What can that be? I do not even get to the BIOS. I can only think of
RAM or motherboard faults?
The FDD gets power and it's LED is on fixed

If it were the HDD would I not at least get the BIOS and then the
error message OS not found or something?

I'm not sure about the MB, but I had a similar problem once. It
turned out that it was the video card. I simply pulled it out and re-
inserted it into the socket and made sure that it was tight. Worked
ever since.

I had a similar problem once. It turned out that the motherboard was
shorting against the case. On a Tech Support person's recommendation, I
took the motherboard out of the case and tried to power up with it out of
the case. It worked flawlessly. So, I just had to add a few fiber washers
to a few standoffs and it's been fine for 3 years now.
