Pc keeps shutting down or rebooting

Hi there, hope someone can shed some light on this problem im having.

Myy pc randomly decides to either shutdown or reboot, usually during a game
or other high cpu usage appplication. When it does this, my speakers give out
a nasty electrical 'blip/screech'.

My hardware is as follows:

AMD 64 3200+
2 gig Corsair Value select dual channel Ram
2 x XFX 6600 GT gfx in SLi mode
Gigabyte GA-K8NXP-SLI Mobo using F11 bios
2 x Samsung SATA RAID striped HDD's (230gig)
Creative ZS soundcard

Im sure this has only started happening since flashing bios from F9 - F11,
but I am unaware of any issues with F11 to cause this.

Any help would be gratefully appreciated :D

Cheers,

Dave

Been running temperature monitoring software? Sometimes available from
your motherboard manufacturer on CDs included with board or the support
section of their web site.

RobertVA,

Apologies for delay in responding.

I do not use any temp software, gigabyte dont like them, and i agree with
them ;)

Its still doing it, its almost like a power surge, or at least the
electrical screech/blip from the speakers suggests that, but my pc sits
behind surge protectors, and every other piece of electrical equipment in the
house is not affected by the above.

I did at one point think that it might be something to do with overheating,
but can confirm its nothing to do with that.

It must be a hardware issue, as i have completely formatted and re-installed
XP, twice now ;) and its still causing a problem.... money money and more
money huh :(

Anyway, ive babbled enough.

If you do have any hints or tips, pls carry on responding to this thread, as
im sure im not the only one with this problem.

Cheers,

Nos
