Can someone give me a little advice? Half a year ago I bought an
AMD64/3200+/S939, Asus A8V Deluxe, 2x256MB Kensington DDR,
80GB/7200rpm/SATA, ASUS ATI RADEON 9200SE, BENQ DVD/RW 1620i and a Codegen
case + 400 W PSU.

Now, sometimes my system hangs or freezes. Sometimes, when I wait +- 15
minutes, the system unfreezes, but most of the time, I have to disconnect
the power cable. When I connect the powercable immediately after
disconnecting, my powerswitch doesn't function. Then I have to disconnect
the powercable for a few minutes. After that, the PC is functioning
properly.

After having this complicated boot, I have 2 complications:
1. I need another bootcycle to let my USB mice working
2. My systemclock stopped counting during the freeze, so I have to adjust
it.

In my opinion it could be OR the mainboard, OR the powersupply unit, which
is not functioning stable. Seeing these problems, which one is 'the bad guy'
in your opinion?

Tnx in advance.

PSU would definitely be what I would try first. All 400w PSUs are not equal.

Have you noticed in this group that nearly all the problems
involve an ASUS mobo?

Perhaps that is merely because ASUS motherboards are such high quality and
well regarded that they are the overwhelming choice for home system
builders. If more are bought, then more will have problems obviously.

I, for one, do not have an ASUS motherboard.

I also do not have system problems.
