I've had this problem ever since I bought this PC. It is an HP M1170n and
has the Media Center 2005 and no matter which app I'm in whether or not I'm
online or not even just after turning it on I get a frozen screen with no
ability to move the mouse or keyboard. I've disconnected both mouse and
keyboard to test it and it still freezes. Is there some app I can use
winthin WindowsXP that can provide me with a log of what is going on here
such as a program trying to initialize or something? I just can't figure it
out and noone seems to know what this problem is. Any help would be
appreciated. Thanks.

Is the screen blue?
what does it say?
CTL+ALT+DEL or Windows key do anything?

Any advise is my attempt to contribute more than I have received but I can only assure you that it works on my PC. GOOD LUCK.

my 2.5 year old PC (AMD Athlon 2.2 - 512 ram 80g HD) - has beeen doing
exactly the same for the past 8 months... driving me nuts... have
replaced ram and graphics card - checked operating temps on
m/board/psu/HD and still doing it..... PSU is perhaps the next move -
the next move after that - DUMP IT.......
