PC display on TV

A

~~~AAA~~~
I have an ATI All In Wonder Pro 128 32MB using WinXP Pro. Through help
here I am able to record cable TV onto my PC and watch same. I had
trouble getting the audio to work and was instructed to connect the A/V
out of the card to the line in and that solved that problem.
I now would like to watch the shows on my TV instead of my PC LCD monitor.
#1 How do I make my PC display (audio and video) go to my TV?
#2 On the PC at full screen view there is a bit of distortion, am I
correct to understand that on the TV that will not be the case due to
resolution or whateveryacallit?
The Tv is gonna look like crap due to the low resolution of most TV sets.
Maybe I am atypical as I only like small TVs, but both my PC monitor and TV
are good quality Sony and a video picture is much much better on the TV than
it is on the monitor. Brilliance, contrast, colours, all improved. Windows
desktop is useless on TV due to low resolution, but videos look much better.
How it's done - composite out from ATI card goes to composite in of VCR AV2
SCART (using an adapter), turn on 2nd monitor in Settings - Advanced -
Displays and set Overlay - Clone Mode Options to Theatre mode so that video
is always full screen on the TV.
Obviously, your equipment will vary, and you may have an S video option
which will give better quality.
How well will it work for you - only you will know having tried it.
Different bits of hardware vary too much.
HTH,
Laurence
