PC crashes at Random

Had loads of problems.
PC kept crashing for no reason, first in a game to
desktop, then blue screen of death.
Reinstalled XP - SP1, and it still happened.
Formatted hard drive, reinstalled XP and SP1 and it still
happens.
Error seems to be System error 102, what is this???
PC is not new, and only started occuring two days ago.
But having reformatted and installed fresh! what can it
be?
Ran Norton Anti-Virus and all OK!
Disc Dr. 23 ActiveX/com errors tough amd invalid fonts,
shortcuts and missing Microsfot shared files! all this
after a recent install.
HELP PLEASE.
