pc beeps forever when starting

i bought a pc and formated the hd, everything went fine till today when i
tried to power it up to install 98 , it beeps forever, nothing comes up on
the screen at all, i seperated every cable one by one , same results, even
when only the power adapter is connected, it still beeps, i even seperated
the IDE devices, same results

Pull power cord out and clear the CMOS and see if you can get into the
BIOS?
 
I had this error code, on a Gigabyte 7IX, before. It was caused by the
memory not being seated, correctly.

Could be a problem with the memory. Reseat it.

Try taking out the ram then putting it back in making sure it is in
firmly and reboot, that happened to me once and this fixed it, hope
thats helps.

this is a typical memory problem
