Hello,
I have two problems with the last version 1.0.614 of antiSpyware.

1) updating version :
In About Microsoft Antispyware : Spyware Definition Version: 5729
(01/07/2005 00:50:34)
Then I check for Update , I have the message :
"Updating definition from 5727 to version 5279"

2) updating schedule :
I wanted setting to the 19:00 but when I press key UPDATE SCHEDULE, the
hour is transformed in 7 am.
After severals modifications of this time, I have succeded to obtain :
112:00 am !!

Greetings from France

Hi

How to update, workaround

Right click on MSAS icon within systray and choose shutdown.

Right click and "Save target as..."
http://download.spynet.com/ASDefinitions/gcDeterminationData.gcd

http://download.spynet.com/ASDefinitions/gcThreatAuditScanData.gcd

http://download.spynet.com/ASDefinitions/gcThreatAuditThreatData.gcd

Copy/paste these files to Program files/Microsoft Antispyware

Restart MSAS and "check for updates"

Done until MS realize that this is a bug..............

Scheduling:

With MSAS, Microsoft Antispyware you have really strong "real time
protection".
for spyware attacks ! beacuse of this it is not necessary to schedule
so many scans.

Perhaps once a week !

Maybe you can use your planner/reminder and start a manual scan until
this buggy scheduling issue is resolved ? Choose a fullscan with all
options checked.

If you also protect your PC with an updated antivirus program, a
running firewall
and of course using Windowsupdate its not a big deal with this
scheduling bug.

And most important, you never click on a banner or popup for anything
"For Free " !?

Why is all users so "scheduled" ? This is not a problem !

Do we download this 3 files for each definition version ?

The schedulling is for once a week.
This problem isn't serious, but it's just a bug.

Is this a question or an affirmation ?

Thanks for your answer.

These files are latest definitions all three, version 5729, different
files for
scanning and detection within MSAS.

MS have this kb but it is not updated for latest defs. 8-o

Good ! ;)

It is the best advice you can get to never click on anything "For
free".

Look at this page (do not click on anthing !)

www.abetterinternet.com

This is "For Free" advertisment which often includes spyware.
You finds "For Free" everywhere.

This morning I try to instal the new definition version and I have this
message in the error.log file :

I think it isn't serious from Mircosoft Corp to propose this software which
has at least two bugs that we can see. The preceding version did not have
these bugs.

Thank you Plun
