Payroll tracking of vacation hours

employees are awarded vacation hours on an annual basis based on their date
of hire and their status (full time/part time) is it possible to create a
table to automatically complete these functions we also need to calculate
hours used and remaining balance until the new allocation of hours

Karen,

Well, you actually won't create a table to complete these functions, you
would create a query. But more to the point sounds like you don't have a
database and are wanting to 'create' one. If you provide us with what
version of Access... me or someone here can direct you to a site that will
get you started.
