Pause a slide with audio

Hi to all!!!
I have create a powepoint using powerpoint 2000. It has for each slide a
wave audio attached. I want to insert a button to pause/resume the audio and
the slide, too. Is it possible?

I don't think this is possible with PPT 2000. (In fact, I just tried
something I thought might work, and I crashed my entire system. Yikes!)

It's pretty straightforward in PPT 2002 or 2003, though.
