How do you permanently modify the DOS PATH statement
in Windows XP?

Dick Adams,

Start/Run/Regedit

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Command Processor\AutoRun.

In the right pane, double click Autorun and type in the value, ie: "cd\" as
the value data without the quotes to have a "c" prompt.

Hi, Dick,
As an alternate to Sir_George's suggestion,
Click Start, right click My Computer and click Properties,
Click Advanced and the Environment Variables button,
In the System Variables window, click to highlite Path,
Click the Edit button,
Hit the right arrow key to get rid of the highlite,
Hit the semi_colon key and add the Path and File name you want.
