Patch Won't Install

I am using XP Pro/SP2 with all current patches. One patch fails to install
but I can't find any information on why or how to correct that. The patch is
a high priority one:

Security Update for Microsoft .NET Framework, Version 2.0 (KB917283)

When I run the install I get an error popup saying that the updates were
unable to be installed. I can't finnd any further informatioon

And dont forget windowsupdate newsgroup - I am certain .net has been
mentioned.
