Pasting Visio Charts into Powerpoint

Guest

Greetings. I'm trying to embed a part of a Visio organization chart into a
powerpoint file. Here's what happens:
- I select the parts of the visio chart and click copy.
- I go to powerpoint, get to the slide I want the stuff on and click "paste
special"
- I select Microsoft Visio Object and click OK.
- The parts of the chart appear on the slide. At that point everything is
fine, but then..
- I double click the visio object on the powerpoint slide because I want to
edit it.
- The visio editing tools start up but the visio shapes are NOT there; I
just get a blank visio drawing.
- If I click back to powerpoint slide, visio tools close and I'm back in
powerpoint but my originally pasted visio shapes are gone. All that's left
are the six handles of the blank visio sheet.

Can anyone tell me if I'm doing something wrong or if this is a bug? Thanks.

Try right clicking the chart object and select Visio Object > Edit. Does that
let you do what you want? You might have to drag the window to expand the view
to see the tools, etc.

I'm using PowerPoint 2003 and Visio 2003. Double clicking works also.
