pasting in outlook 2007

Does anyone know how to set Word as the default email editor in Outlook 2007,
so that the interface and commands are the same as in Word?

For example, I want to be able to Alt Edit Copy, Alt Edit Paste, Alt Edit
Undo and etc.

Right now, it appears I have to stop typing and use the mouse! What a step
backwards!

All you get is what you see in outlook... why not use the ctrl keys? C, V,
Z etc?

Cole,

To set Word as your default email editor, in Outlook open Tools -> Options.
On the Mail Format tab, under Message Format, check the option _Use Microsoft
Office Word to edit email messages_.

I learned to use Word throught the menus and still use Word 2007 that way, so
it's not convenient to learn new command shortcuts.

Word 2007 still uses these same menus, the same as in Word 2003.
Unfortunately the interface for Outlook messages is now different than for
Word.

Yes, that is how you would change it in 2003, but not in 2007. It would
appear that Word is no longer the email editor for Outlook and it cannot be
made to be.

Thanks for the answer.

Word is the ONLY email editor in Outlook 2007. Microsoft dropped the
previously existing Outlook email editor and replaced it with Word. It
doesn't actually open Word as in previous versions though. Microsoft
created a slimmed-down version of Word that is packaged with Outlook.
It doesn't appear though that this slimmed down version supports the
Office 2007 menu shortcuts like Word 2007 itself.

Oops! Sorry about that. I haven't yet poked Outlook 2007. A Microsoft Word
document (title: Reading and Editing E-mail in Microsoft Office Outlook 2007)
you may find interesting:

http://office.microsoft.com/search/redir.aspx?AssetID=XT102109291033&CTT=5&Origin=HA102109301033

Note the sections Experience with Office Word 2007 installed (p. 6) and
Experience without Office Word 2007 installed (p. 9).

So from Googling, it appears that Office 2007 doesn't offer a "classic menu"
(File, Edit, ... Help) that you can enable? What happens in Word 2007 when
you press ALT+F? Anything?

You may try installing the Classic menu addin and this will bring back the
old menu..
