pasting in images

I've just upgraded from Word 2000 to 2003. I used to simply copy an image (eg jpeg) and 'paste special' the file striaght onto a word sheet which I could move and resize anywhere on the page. Now with 2003, when I 'paste special' the image is always pasted in as a piece of text rather than as an object which I can place anywhere on the page! Help please, much appreciated!!

In Word 2002, you can choose the default wrapping style for inserted or
pasted graphics (the factory default is "In Line with Text"), but this
doesn't affect Paste Special, which at least sometimes pastes objects
floating (wrapped). Evidently this has been corrected in Word 2003. You can
change the default for all objects (Edit tab of Tools | Options), or you can
correct individual pasted objects. Just click on the graphic, which will
display the Picture toolbar, click on the Text Wrapping button (dog icon),
and choose some wrapping other than In Line with Text.
