pasting bulleted lists from Word snafu

Whenever I copy a bulleted list from Word (2003 or 2007) and paste it into
Dreamweaver CS3, the list shows up as an ordered (numbered) list. It does the
opposite if I paste in an ordered list, it comes out with bullets. What's the
deal? (running Vista BTW). It's done this with both Word 2003 and 2007.

Here is an example of the kind of Word text I'm trying to copy and paste:

I've also noticed that when I copy and paste text from Word into DW CS3, it
randomly add multiple spaces between words. If I copy and paste the same text
into Notepad, no extra spaces. If I copy the same text from Notepad to DW, no
spaces. What gives?

I've tried the Adobe forum and they don't know why either.

When copying between applications, you cannot be sure that the formatting
will display the same in the target application. The best approach is often
to paste as plain text (or whatever the corresponding command is called in
Dreamweaver) and then format it as desired in Dreamweaver.
