Paste Function doesn't work in Mail

I recently installed Office Home & Student on a new machine with Vista and
found that I can no longer copy an Excel chart and past it in the message
space in Mail. I could do this with no problem using Office 2002 - XP and
Vista. Is the problem with Vista or with Office 2007? I have already
changed the registry to allow direct e-mail from Word and Excel to Mail
(by-passing the requirement to have Outlook), but this doesn't seem to be
related to that silly feature.

Windows Mail has problems adding an attachment while it is still open in
some other program.

Thanks for responding. However, the problem is not with adding an attachment
- the problem is that if I copy a graph from Excel, I can't paste it within
the body of a Mail message I am composing. I do not have this problem with
my computer that uses Windows XP and Outlook, but I don't know whether the
problem on my other computer is related to Vista or Mail (it doesn't have
Outlook). The paste option is greyed out in Windows Mail.

Bummer! This is not the first concern I have had with Vista/Mail not
providing as full functionality as XP/OE. Are there any other advantages to
installing Live Mail - I don't know anything about the software and will
check the webste, although I do resent MS making it necessary to install yet
another program just to get an advantage that was already there in an older
delivery. I am so disappointed with the restrictive issues with Vista, I
would like to complain to someone at MS who cares - any ideas what route
would be best?

Windows Mail is dead in the sense that Microsoft is not developing it
or fixing any more bugs. All development work is going into the newer
Windows Live Mail (WLM). WLM has some improvements over WM,
such as the real-time spell checker (marking typos immediately with
a red squiggly underline), auto-correction of commonly misspelled words,
and better auto-completion when typing in the recipients. Also, when
adding a Contacts group to the address line, WLM (unlike WM) allows
the group to be expanded so you can delete some of those recipients.

If it turns out you don't like WLM, merely uninstall it, and WM is back
just like before.

Thanks very much for your help.
