Go to Control Panel and double click Internet Options.
In Internet Options, click on the Content tab.
In the AutoComplete section, hit the Settings button.
In AutoComplete Settings, make sure that "Prompt me to save
passwords" is checked.
Click OK twice.

Note: If you're still using Internet Explorer 6 the process is
similar except you will need to hit the AutoComplete button in
the Personal Information section of the Content tab.

Good luck

I'd start by restricting "the kids" to be even able to do this. I
don't know enough of your situation to make a real helpful comment
except that it is the nature of kids to try to mess with their
parents in subtle ways, hence it often pays to restrict what
they're allowed to do and put your own private account(s) with a PW
only you know. At least that way, you have a method of recovering.

Good luck!
