none of my passwords will save. everytime I log on to a site, i am
prompted to fill in my password. any ideas.

Any kind of disk clean-up type application or setting that deletes cookies
on a regular basis can have that effect.

Thanks, but that is not the case, i just reformattd and reinstalled
windowsxp and this is a new problem

Allow cookies, and set Internet Options, Content, Auto Complete, to
remember passwords.

Do you have IE's security set not to accept cookies? If so, then
the PW that ordinarily might get saved as a cookie won't, ever.
