If you have Windows XP Professional type CTRL + ALT + DEL at the Welcome
logon screen, this will present you with the Classic Windows Logon Screen.
Enter your User name as administrator and leave the Password field blank.
It is quite feasible that you have not yet setup a password for this hidden
user account and will be able to logon.

If you have Windows XP Home, boot into Safe Mode (press F8 after the BIOS
POST screen disappears and select Safe Mode from the Windows Advanced
Options menu), you will now have the option of logging onto to your machine
as Administrator. Logon with the User name Administrator leaving the
password field left blank as above and press the enter key.

If either of these methods allow you to successfully logon as Administrator,
do the following to reset the password for your user account:

1.. Click Start, and then click Control Panel.
2.. Double-click User Accounts.
3.. Click the User Account for which you wish to change the password.
4.. Click Change the password.
5.. In Type a new password and Type the new password again to confirm,
type the new password.
6.. Click Change Password.
