Hi,

I have an XP Pro computer logging into a SBS 2000 domain, I would like to
not have to be prompted for a password,
is there a registry setting that I can set so the user doesn't get prompted
for a password?

Thanks, Craig

AFAIK, no. It would be wrong to have a workstation able to log onto a domain
without the user providing a password. Terrible for security. Why ever
would you want to do this? If the user is your boss, tell him by spending
two seconds entering his password he is keeping the company secure and
safe.

lol Don't beat me up to bad Malke, thanks for your thoughts and you're
absolutely right!
BUT, when the owner of the company says he doesn't want a password... Then
you get
rid of the password;)

Buy the "Big Chief" a Microsoft Fingerprint Reader. High Level
Management loves "Toys". Second only to having the biggest
office, having neat stuff really makes their day. Be prepared to
go back and buy a basket full - If one has it - they'll all want one.

I'm not beating you up. ;-) Actually, when the owner says he doesn't want a
password, the right thing to say is "I'm sorry, but that's not the way
computers work" and leave it at that. Then go buy him a fingerprint reader
like Mr. McCarthy suggested. It's an excellent idea and that's how you
handle small children and childish bosses - say "no" and when you can't say
"no" alone, redirect by giving them something else. I don't think you can
use TweakUI on a domain and you don't want to compromise the entire
organization's security because the boss is lazy and foolish. And you can
print this out and give it to him from me. If he's offended, tell him to
call me and I'll set him straight. ;-)

"No, I'm sorry darling you can't have that but here's this lovely toy car.
Look, it goes Vroom!"

;-)

Hi,

I know you may talking about a feature of Windows XP called automatic
logon. However, this feature only available in Workgroup enviroment because
use this feature can pose a security risk.

For information about automatic logon, please have a look at following

Have a good day!
