passwords

we recently purchased a dell lap top computer that has
windows 2000 professional installed on it. However, before
we can get into windows it calls for a user name and
password. we have the user name but not the password and
the former owners cannot remember the password either. we
tried overriding the old operating system with windows xp,
but that would not work. does anyone have any thoughts as
to how we may solve the problem?
 
take off windows and install LINDOWS 4.5 For deskto
