Passwords don't seem to save

I have been visiting web sites, FTPing to my heart's
content, and doing anything else that may require a
username and password...it always asks me if I want to
save the password, and I always choose yes, but my next
visit, it does not remember the password.

Is there something I can do to make sure that my passwords
are saved on my machine?

This fix applies to Outlook and other programs that store passwords
in the Protected Storage System Provider sub-branch of the Registry.
It also corrects some issues with Internet Explorer and Autocomplete.
