"password will expire" message but no password being used?

My wife is telling me that her XP machine at work has started telling her
her password is going to expire. But, she says, she never needs to use a
password to get logged in to her PC.

- why might it be saying her password is going to expire?
- how can she make the message go away and still log in without a password?

Her PC's on a network with other PCs, don't know details. Don't know if
she's on XP Pro or Home.

Thanks for any tips

If it is Pro (and in an Office net it most probably is) , it needs
someone who has Admin status (which she may not) to logon and go to
Control Panel - Admin Tools - Local Security Policy.

There in
Security Settings - Account Policies - Password Policy
you can set the various checks to be made on passwords - especially the
Maximum Password Age. Setting these to 0 will effectively mean 'do not
make this check'
