Password Retention under Vista

I'm running Outlook 2002 under Vista and I have the problem that many users
have when tring to access my e-mails. Outlook persists in asking for my
password every time I start Outlook and try to read my e-mails even though
the 'remember password' box is ticked.

I've read all the solutions relating to the Protected Storage System
Provider keys in the Registry but none are up to date for Vista.

Before I dive in, I would like some information specific to Vista.

I am running Outlook 2007 under Vista and I am having the same issue. I just
started today. Another issue that I am having is that the outbox doesn't send
my emails. I have been trying to send the same emails for several days now.
Some emails go through and others just sit in the outbox.
Can someone help me?!

IIRC, that's a known problem with Outlook 2002 running under Vista. It's not likely to be fixed, since Outlook 2002 is beyond its mainstream support period. In other words, it's too old for Microsoft to do any work on it for Vista compatibility.

Thanks Sue. Does that mean I won't have the password problem if I upgrade to
Outlook 2007?

Correct.
