In my XP book it says do cntrl-alt-del, click change password, and
there will be a button named "backup" that's starts the forgotton
password wizard process.

I'm using my xp pro at work w/a domain login - and I don't see any
backup button anywhere. Wondered why it's not there while an MS press
book that seems good says I should see it...

Thanks

When you use a "domain", XP behaves differently. The "backup" option is
mainly used when the PC is a stand-alone (not part of a domain). Since a
stand-alone PC is not part of a domain, you can not reset the password (which
your domain administrator can!)

Oh it's got to be the local computer name itself in the domian name
section...then the backup button shows up....
