Password protection on profiles on secondary hard drive

I installed a secondary Hard Drive onto a computer (with XP home and SP2) to
salvage important files out of one of the profiles because it's previous
habitat died of old age. I need to retrieve a few documents and whatnot but
can't because the profile still is protected by it's old username and
password. I know the old username and password but can't think of a way to
log in as said username as i don't have the rights to copy it into the
profiles of the computer i installed the hard drive on.
