How do I reapply this protection when I walk away from my computer without
shutting outlook 2003 down? So when I come back or someone else is at my
computer and they try to view the mail in my outlook 2003, a password has to
be entered.

there's no built-in Outlook feature to do that. Use Windows security instead
to lock the computer after an idle period of lock it manually.
