Password protecting access to a PC running a presentation?

I have a Kiosk presentation that I want to leave running 24/7. However, I am
concerned about people being able to access the PC and by it the network the
presentation is running on.

I would like to have the presentation password protected so that you can't
exit it.

As a related concern the presentation will update nightly via a batch file
that stops the presentation using Taskkill, copies the new version onto the
PC and starts the presenation. If this will conflict with the password
protection I need to find another way to update the presentation each night.

Thanks

It seems to me you are contradicting yourself. If I follow you, your goal
is to be able to remotely kill the presentation with TaskKill, but you want
to stop anyone from killing it remotely. Am I missing something here? <g>

Sorry for the confusion. Taskkill runs on the PC as part of a batch file
that is called by a local job. Staff daily update a copy of the presentation
and then leave it in a folder that is then copied over the active one by the
batch file.

The real concern is restricting access to the PC from someone walking up to
it. I can design another method for update if need be.

Short of unplugging the keyboard or hiding it I see no way to do what you
want.

Lock the keyboard up. If you leave it out, anyone can kill the presentation.
No keyboard, no worries.

Another option is to run an HTML version of the presentation off the network.
A user with access to the folder where the HTML files live can update them, the
next time they come around on the browser, it uses the newest version.

Add'l benefit: the browser doesn't have the habit of locking up on some PCs
after a few hours/days of non-stop. PPT does.
