Password protect Flash Drive

I am no longer asked for my password when I initially plug in the flash disk.
I forgot how I initially set that up, so I need the instructions again.

Sorry, but this isn't anything to do with XP and is specific to whatever 3rd
party protection you used on that drive. And since you don't mention what
that is, it's rather hard to give an answer.

It is a 2 gig thumb drive/disk. I don't recall if I received instructions
from the 3rd party (PNY) or not. I assumed that all of these types of
removable disks would have the same procedure to set up password protection.

No, there are a few different encyption apps used by different
manufacturers.

On a related topic, this drive doesn't contain the only copy of that data,
does it? You have copies elsewhere? USB flash drives have a habit of
suddenly and permanently failing.

I have copies of all the data ... I just like to have it safe when not in my
possession. Thanks for the info.
