Users running our Excel spreadsheet tool were having no problems unti
recently. We've had several users get the Password Prompt for VB
Project Appears After Excel Quits when they close our application. W
have over 8000 users worldwide and lately we've had about 5 users ge
the vba password prompt when they exit the tool. Any ideas why thi
would be happening

That's very odd, this started happening to us recently too. IT rolled out a
"hotfix" which incorporated a new Excel EXE (from Microsoft) - my suspicions
lie in this direction.

You had anything like that updated lately?

Hi guys

It seems Google Desktop can be the problem.
Uninstall it and see if it helps

Ahah, many thanks - that's almost definitely the answer for me.

Ron,

Funny, but I had the same problem myself.
Had installed Google Desktop and never associated one problem with the
other.
Also had the dual instances in the Project Explorer window (as mentioned in
another thread).
Have since reformatted and reloaded my entire HD from scratch for an
unrelated reason (and, of course, that particular anomaly went away too).

Now, my question.........
How in the heck did you figure this out???

John

Similar problem. Also solved by removing Google Desktop. Let's hop
Google fix this before thousands start tearing out their hair

Hi John

I hear it from John Walkenbach yesterday.
One of his Add-in users have this problem also and
fix it with uninstalling Google Desktop.

I had the same issue 3 weeks ago, i kept going thru the VB code and
couldnt find anything. After seeing this thread, and solution, i got
everything fixed right away.

I'm having a similar problem with a custom addin.

I don't have google desktop installed.

Any other ideas?

Microsoft Encarta Addin also responsible

I have just discovered that The “Indispensable of the Education” (I don’t know the english equivalent), an addin of Encarta Microsoft was also responsible. Responsible for the fact that vba projects remain and responsible for Password prompt for VBA project appears after Excel quits.
I am working with Excel 2003 and Vista.
