I have forgotten my password and do not have a password
reset disk, I have researched the Microsoft Knowledge
Database and the only solution they have is to completely
reset Windows XP, and the other solutions have do not
work either.

I have valuable work on my computer and need to keep all
of it, is there anyway of resetting my password.

Any help is gratefully recieved

I guess you tried safe mode. forgetting the password is
one of the few things that is almost impossible to
rectify. do you have an xp disc? you can do a minor
recover but not the first one the system asks you for.
(sorry, its been a while). My typical answer is to go
get another hard drive and put the operating system on
it, making it your master drive and your other one, the
slave. Gives you a good excuse to buy more stuff. from
there you should be able to break into the D drive and
get files. Also try a default password which is
typically just blank or the word "admin". I'll double
check with my IT mgr if he ever shows up for work.
