Password problem

When I try to logon to IE the password prompt shows 16 dots. May password is
10 dots long. Try as I might I cannot get a 10 dot password. I've deleted
the leading 6 dots and finally the trailing 6 dots and on each attempt the
ISP returns unrecognized "data/ password... Outloog shows same. The only
way to get online is to uncheck save password & put it in manually each time
for bothe apps. Any real suggestions on how to fix?

skip the password thing...use auto logon...passwords really don't provide
any security anyway...

This is because we just display 16 dots to prevent the first point of a
password attack which can the question "how long is the password I have to
try and guess/crack etc".
So your real password is still there - we just fill the display with dots to
obscure it.

Gator,

Please do not provide such poor advice.
Firstly this is nothing to do with the user login password (that you auto
login "answer" tries to address). It is actually about the display of a
password that has already been entered in a dialog box.
Secondly password do provide a degree of security, and certainly more then
using none at all.
