password problem

Hi, my computer is set up with multiple users, and we had
folders that were individually password-protected. our
hard-drive is partitioned C: system / D:achive. we
cleared the C drive and re-installed windows XP
professional, but now we can access the password-
protected folders. can anyone tell me how to re-gain
access to those folders
