Will a password policy work with remote users, utilizing
win2k professional or must these passwords be changed
manually by the users?

Hi Pete,

If you set a "password policy" for the domain and the "remote user's
machine account" is part of the domain they will get the password policy.

With this said, the "remote users" should be able to change their passwords.
