Password on .pst folder stopped working

I put a password on my personal folders in Outlook 2003. Each time I tried
to open Outlook, it would ask for my password, which is what I wanted it to
do. All of a sudden, it stopped asking for the password and goes directly
into Outlook. I tried changing the password and it still will not function
by asking me for the password. I updated my virus protection today and it
was after that when Outlook stopped asking for the password. I have updated
my virus protection many times since first using a password on Outlook and it
has never done this before. Can someone more experienced with this please
HELP or give me some idea what to do? I haven't changed anything else. I
close out of Outlook each time by clicking on the X in the upper right
corner. Thanks for any help or answers. This is important because of other
people who use my computer.

Have you restarted your computer already? Does it work then? Sounds like
Outlook doesn't really close at all. You can verify this by looking if the
outlook.exe process actually quits as well. If it doesn't see;
