Password not working

I have a Access Database that I used a database password with but not user
level security. It is an address book on a PC shared by many users that I
wanted minimal security on. Now I cannot open the database - the password I
originally used is not working. Perhaps I am remembering it wrong or
changed it without making proper notes. Anyway I have a problem. I do have
an older, unprotected version, but it is not up to date.

It is noted that this type of password protection is not very secure so I
assume that there is a way to determine it. Can anyone give me some advice.

The database password is easy to defeat. If you Google search using
appropriate keywords I'm sure you'll find many free "utilities" that will
show you forgotten passwords.

Thanks Keith. I had used Google and found some software that wasn't free
and I was afraid of viruses, etc. Does anyone have a recommendation of a
safe, free or inexpensive solution? This is for data I keep where I
volunteer.
