Password Glitch--Please save me

The password [for Word document] doesn't work after a
normal reboot (it worked, several times, before the
reboot); thus, I can't open the document that I REALLY
need. The document contains converted data from a AMI PRO-
-if this matters.

The password was not forgotten--it was reused several
times without a hitch.

Are there methods, including a crude hacking job?

Pentimum III 800 mhz
Windows ME
XP Suite for Teachers and Students

unprotecting and opening MS Word documents, and other files:
